Counseling Services
The counseling program at Elon Park Elementary School includes individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons/activities to help meet the needs of all students. The goal of our counseling program is to help foster positive learning experiences for students, parents, and teachers. Our comprehensive approach is based on the American School Counseling Association's National Model which provides us with three fundamental domains of counseling: Academic counseling, personal/social counseling, as well as guidance and career counseling. Each domain works to address the diverse needs of our students and their families.
Alongside classroom guidance, individual and group counseling we partake in a number of other responsibilities such as: -504 Coordinator -McKinney Vento Liaison: Assist families who may be experiencing homelessness. -MTSS Coordinator: A team developed to determine the best strategies and interventions for students academic success. -Character Education: Provide the platform for character education as well as provide weekly lessons for our -Consulting with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to help promote the academic, career, and emotional/social development of students. -Coordinating referrals of community agencies and resources for students and families. |
